Chittagong
Chittagong (Bengali: চট্টগ্রাম, Chôţţogram) is the second largest city in Bangladesh. It stands on the banks of the Karnaphuli River, in southeastern Bangladesh. The surrounding mountains and rivers make the city attractive.

Chittagong is a major commercial and industrial center in Bangladesh. It is the city for export and import passes through the Port of Chittagong. Most of the large industries of Bangladesh are situated in Chittagong.

Dhaka



Dhaka (Bengali: ঢাকা), is the capital of Bangladesh; formerly known as Dacca, and Jahangirnagar, during Mughal rule in the 17th century. It stands on the bank of the Buriganga River. It is a megacity and one of the major cities of South Asia, the 9th largest city in the world. It has a large population. Dhaka is also knows as the city of mosques, fine muslin and rickshaws has a fairly long history of evolution.
Today is center of culture, education, business, political life in Bangladesh.

Bengali New Year or Poyela Boishakh (Bengali: নববর্ষ Noboborsho):
Poyela Boishakh is the first day of the Bengali New Year, celebrated in both Bangladesh and West Bengal and in Bengali communities in Assam and Tripura.

In Bangladesh, Pohela Boishakh is celebrated on April 14 is a national holiday. In West Bengal and Assam it is a public holiday celebrated on April 15.


Names
Bengali New Year is referred to in Bengali as "New Year" (Bengali: নববর্ষ Noboborsho, from sanskrit Nava(new)varṣa(year) or "First of Boishakh" (Bengali: পহেলা বৈশাখ Pohela Boishakh or "First of Boishakh " (Bengali: পহেলা বৈশাখ Pohela Boishakh or পয়লা বৈশাখ Poela Boishakh).


Nobo means new and Borsho means year.
