The national flag of Bangladesh (
Bengali: বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় পতাকা) was adopted in the year of 1972, on 13 January. The national flag was designed by
Kamrul Hasan.The national flag of Bangladesh is bottle green in color and rectangular in size with the length to width ratio of
10:6 bearing a red circle on the body of the green. The red circle has a radius of one fifth of the length of the flag. Its center is placed on the middle of the perpendicular drawn from the nine twentieth parts of the flag. The color in the background represents the greenery of Bangladesh while the red circle symbolizes the rising sun and the sacrifice of lives in our freedom fight.
