Aarong’s Eid-ul-Fitre collection 2011
Aarong is a fair trade organisation dedicated to bring about positive changes in the lives of disadvantaged artisans and underprivileged rural women by reviving and promoting their skills and craft. Reaching out to weavers, potters, brass workers, jewellers, jute workers, basket weavers, wood carvers, leather workers and more, Aarong embraces and nurtures a diverse representation of 65,000 artisans, 85% of whom are women. Today, Aarong has become the foundation upon which independent cooperative groups and family-based artisans market their craft, in an effort to position the nation’s handicraft industry on a world platform of appreciation and acknowledgement.

Ramp model Ria Chowdhury in Movie
Ria Chowdhury is familiar as a ramp model. Besides she is engaged with TV modeling and acting. She has already performed in a main stream and digital movies. But those yet not released. In 2008, for the first time Ria acted in the mainstream movie titled ‘Khela,’ directed by Sheikh Didar.
Film actor Rubel was her co-actor in that movie. Seventy percent works of that movie has been completed for the last few years.
By this time Ria also engaged herself to act in a digital movie titled ‘E Mon Jurey,’ directed by Emon Barua. Works of this movie is now in the last phase.
Recently Ria has signed in agreement to act in another movie titled ‘Midnight Gulshan’. It will be made under the banner of new production house Gangchil Chalachitra and will be directed by Dhimon Barua.
Story of the movie is based on the lifestyle of the elite class society in the city’s Gulshan area during midnight. Ria will act in an important role in the movie. Mahurrat of the movie will be held on August 3 and its shooting will be held in various locations in the city's Gulshan, Banani and posh areas. Dolly Zahur, Mizu Ahmed, Don, some new faces will perform in this movie, said director of the movie Dhimon Barua.
For the demand of the story of the movie all shootings will be held during night. There will be no daylight shooting in this movie, he said. Ria performed mentionable plays are ‘Naior,’ ‘Arshi,’ ‘Andhokarer Alo,’ ‘Chandan Dweep-er Rajkonya.’ She performed in popular TVC like Jui coconut oil, Quality condensed milk and ice-cream, Moncherry milk candy, Starship juice, Moza chanachur, Fair & Lovely.
