Dhaka University (DU) and Tripura University will conduct transcultural social studies course
for the students of India and Bangladesh.
The two semesters course titled “Transcultural Social Studies: National Identity in the Sub-continent” for the students of India and Bangladesh will be conducted by DU and University of Tripura, said a press release.
Prof. Cristofer Scarboro of King College, Pennsylvania, USA and Prof. Pankaj Chakraborty of Holy Cross College, Agartala, India called on DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique at latter’s office on Sunday.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest specially regarding the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes among DU, Tripura University and Holy Cross College, Agartala of India.
Prof. Cristofer and Prof. Pankaj handed over a letter of the proposed new course from the Vice Chancellor of Tripura University Prof. A Saha to Arefin Siddique.
The Vice Chancellor of Tripura University in his letter offered the course.
One semester will be held in Tripura University and other semester in DU.
The DU VC appreciated the collaborative teaching course and assured the guests of taking necessary measures in this regard.
He thanked Prof. Cristofer and Prof. Pankaj for their visit to DU and showing keen interests in establishing collaborative teaching course with DU.
