The admission process for the 1st year honours in the 2011-12 academic year of the Dhaka University will begin on August 16.
The application forms will be distributed on online from August 16 and it will continue till September 15, 2011 and the forms to be submitted during the same period. Students who passed the HSC or equivalent examinations in 2010 and 2011 are eligible to apply for admission in the 2011-12 session, a DU release said here today.
Minimum qualifications to apply for admission in different units (Without 4th subject)--KA Unit-Total GPA in the SSC and HSC and equivalent examinations combined is 8.00; Kha Unit-Minimum 7.00; Ga Unit 7.5.
Applicants' qualifications for applying to Gha Unit-minimum GPA is 7.00 for Humanities Group, 8.00 for Science Group and 7.5 for Business Studies Group.
Applicants must have GPA 6.00 combined in the subjects of Bangla and English the in HSC and equivalent examinations for applying to the Gha unit and letter grade below C (Grade point 3)in any subject will not be allowed.
For Cha Unit the requirement of GPA is 6.00 (without 4th subject) in theHSC and SSC examinations combined..
GCE Level: Applicants must have passed in five subjects in the 'O' Level examinations and at least two subjects in 'A' Level examinations and 'B' grade in at least four subjects within seven
subjects and 'C' grade in at least in three subjects in both
level.
The examinations of 'Ka Unit' will be held on October 14;
'Kha Unit' on October 21; 'Ga Unit' on October 28; 'Gha Unit' on
November 18 and 'Cha Unit on November 25. Fee for the admission
test is Tk 300.
The decision came at the general admission committee meeting
as per the recommendations of university deans committee meeting
held on August 4, 2011 with Vice Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin
Siddique in the chair.
