Badiuzzaman Shohag was elected new president and Siddique Nazmul Alam general secretary of Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL) on Monday night.
Chief Election Commissioner Awlad Hossain Titu confirmed to media about the elections early Tuesday.
Badiuzzaman Shohag was elected president snatching 1,690 votes while his nearest contestant Monowarul Islam Masud got 521 in the voting held after the national council of the student wing of the ruling Awami League.
General Secretary Siddique bagged 1,771 votes and his nearest candidate got 546 votes in the election held at Bangabandhu International conference centre Monday.
Seven candidates for president and sixteen for general secretary post contested the BCL central committee elections.
Meanwhile, Mehedi Hasan Molla was elected president and Omar Sharif general secretary of Dhaka University BCL committee early Tuesday.
